After only a day and a half, Eric and Jamie heard the terrible news that Kaden would not survive. Together with their family, they went to say goodbye. Each of us held him, and kissed him, and told him how much we would miss him.
My daughter will roll down that endless corridor
her arms empty, aching for her lost son
for the rest of her life.
We are all so very sad here,
cold,
and yet we must go on,
share life,
laugh, and cling to one another,
until one day we can join him.
